1. Your story first
We ask which situations feel hardest — phone calls, restaurants, television, meetings — and about ear health, noise exposure and medication.
Hearing assessment
Greatsound assessments are unhurried conversations backed by careful measurement. You leave understanding your hearing and your options.
Allow roughly 45 minutes. You are welcome to bring a family member — a familiar voice is useful during testing, and a second listener helps when options are discussed.
We ask which situations feel hardest — phone calls, restaurants, television, meetings — and about ear health, noise exposure and medication.
A look inside the ear canal checks for wax, irritation or anything that should be seen by a doctor before testing continues.
Tones at different pitches and volumes map the softest sounds you can hear reliably in each ear.
Word tests show how clearly you follow speech, which often matters more day to day than volume alone.
We walk through the chart in plain language: what is typical, what has changed and what it means for conversation.
That may be monitoring, a medical referral, listening strategies, or trying hearing technology. You decide, without pressure.
Sudden hearing loss, hearing loss in one ear only, severe ear pain, discharge or dizziness should be assessed promptly by a doctor or ENT specialist rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
General information only, not a medical diagnosis.

Testing at home suits people who are frail, bedridden or simply more comfortable in familiar surroundings.
